BIOGRAPHY

Martin Lissola is a violinist/violist with many strings to his bow. As comfortable playing baroque music on gut strings as improvising live on stage with pop musicians, Martin has played with many of the major orchestras and ensembles across Europe as well as with some of the biggest pop stars in the world.

Martin was born in Sweden and started playing the violin at the age of 3. Being brought up in a part of Sweden where music and tradition is very strong, music has played a big part in his life from an early age.

At 15 he continued his violin studies at the Music Conservatory in Falun, Sweden and from there went on to study at the Gothenburg College of Music before graduating with honours from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with a Bachelor in Music .

Since graduating, Martin has enjoyed a busy freelance career all over Europe and plays with several of the UK and European orchestras as well as world renowned smaller ensembles.


Martin is a versatile musician who enjoys many different styles of music and playing. A keen baroque violinist and violist, he often performs with some of the top baroque ensembles across Europe such as Les Musiciens du Louvre, Drottningholms Barockensemble, Swedish Baroque Orchestra and La Nuova Musica.
